PAIA Manual

This page explains how access to information is managed Bilfinger Intervalve Africa (Pty) Ltd in terms of the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA).

1. Purpose of the PAIA Manual

In line with Section 51 of PAIA, our PAIA Manual describes the records we hold as a private body, how those records may be requested, and the process to follow when exercising your right of access to information required for the exercise or protection of a right.

2. What the Manual Covers

The PAIA Manual includes, amongst others:

• Contact details of our Information Officer and heads of the relevant companies.
• Categories of records that are available without a formal request.
• Records held in terms of other legislation.
• Categories of records we hold on subjects such as finance, HR, legal, SHEQ and operations.
• How we process personal information and protect information security, together with POPIA alignment.
• The procedure, forms and fees applicable when submitting a formal PAIA request.

3. How to Request Access to Information

Any person who requires access to a record of the Private Body must submit a written request to the Information Officer using the prescribed PAIA request form and following the procedure set out in the PAIA Manual. Requests are considered in accordance with PAIA and may be granted, partially granted or refused based on the statutory grounds for refusal.
